Una fotografía aérea de personas conglomeradas en la Plaza de la Revolución en Cuba, tomada en 1970 por Roberto Salas, el fotógrafo oficial de Fidel Castro, adquiere acá́ una connotación completamente diferente. El gesto imaginado de sentarse en esa silla se convierte en un acto casi violento. A pesar de que la obra parte de esta foto, la idea que subyace en la pieza es aplicable a cualquier sistema. Sabemos que la mayoría de las veces, a la persona que está en el poder le importa poco o nada el pueblo, aún cuando dependa de su apoyo para mantener su posición.

An aerial photograph of people gathered in the Plaza de la Revolución in Cuba, taken in 1970 by Roberto Salas, Fidel Castro’s official photographer, acquires a completely different connotation here. The imagined gesture of sitting in that chair becomes an almost violent act. Although the work is based on this photo, the idea underlying the piece is applicable to any system. We know that most of the time, the person in power cares little or not at all about the people, even when they depend on their support to maintain their position.
