Esta instalación aborda el fenómeno del autorretrato contemporáneo desde una perspectiva irónica. Aquí, un conjunto de teléfonos móviles acoplados a varas de selfie configuran la silueta de la artista, dando forma a un autorretrato tecnológico.
La pieza alude a la imperiosa necesidad actual de registrar cada instante y a la paradoja de la autonomía que estos dispositivos otorgan: ya no dependemos del otro para ser fotografiados, lo que a su vez acentúa la soledad del sujeto (o del turista moderno). Asimismo, la obra reflexiona sobre la sutil agresividad y la invasión del espacio público que implican estos aditamentos cuando se multiplican en la masa.

This installation approaches the phenomenon of contemporary self-portrait from an ironic perspective. Here, an arrangement of mobile phones attached to selfie sticks outlines the artist’s silhouette, giving shape to a technologically mediated self-portrait.
The work reflects on both the contemporary urge to record every moment and the paradox of the autonomy these devices provide: we no longer depend on others to take our picture, yet this independence heightens the isolation of the subject (or the modern tourist). The work further reflects on the subtle aggression and intrusion into public space brought about by these devices when multiplied within the crowd.
