En esta obra la artista utilizó por primera vez la cama como soporte, aprovechando toda su carga semántica. La cama es el lugar donde soñamos y donde tenemos las relaciones más íntimas con nosotros mismos y con los demás. En esa intimidad, aunque no seamos conscientes, es cuando más cerca estamos de nuestra esencia, y por tanto de la naturaleza y del Universo. Hábitat es como un escenario para disolvernos con la naturaleza y para recordar la energía que la Tierra nos está regalando cada día. Es un lugar para simbólicamente “recargarnos” con esa energía.
En este sentido la obra se inserta en lo que ahora llaman visión biocéntrica del universo, donde el hombre no es el centro sino parte de un todo integrado. Es también una invitación a un acercamiento a la naturaleza desde el cuerpo, no desde la razón, para de esta forma generar una mayor consciencia de la Tierra como ente vivo, y hacer comprender que cada pequeño acto que hacemos en su detrimento es al fin y al cabo en detrimento propio. Al entrar en estados de inmersión en lo natural nuestro espíritu se eleva, y ¿no es esa una de las mayores satisfacciones de una vida, la evolución espiritual?

In this work the artist used the bed as a support for the first time, taking advantage of all its semantic load. The bed is the space where we dream and where we have the most intimate relationships with ourselves and with others. Is in that intimacy when we are closest to our essence, and therefore to nature and the Universe, although we are not aware. Habitat is like a stage to dissolve with nature and to remember the energy that Earth is giving us every day. It is a place to symbolically “recharge” ourselves with that energy.

In this sense, the work is inserted into what is now called a biocentric vision of the universe, where man is not the center but part of an integrated whole. It is also an invitation to approach to nature from the body, not from the reason, in order to generate a greater awareness of Earth as a living entity, and to make understand that every small act we do to its detriment is ultimately to our own detriment. By entering into states of immersion in nature our spirit rises, and isn’t that one of the greatest satisfactions of life, the spiritual evolution?
