Fotografías de pancartas propagandísticas de la Revolución cubana, que luego vuelvo a retratar introduciendo una flor en primer plano como gesto de negación. La imagen se rehace con la pancarta al fondo y la flor enfocada al frente. Todo el proyecto está inspirado en el siguiente fragmento de La Inmortalidad, de Milan Kundera:
Cuando el asalto de la fealdad se vuelva completamente insoportable, compraré en la floristería un nomeolvides, un único nomeolvides, ese delgado tallo con una florecita azul en miniatura, saldré con él a la calle y lo sostendré delante de la cara con la vista fija en él para no ver más que ese único hermoso punto azul, para verlo como lo último que quiero conservar para mí y para mis ojos de un mundo al que he dejado de querer. Iré así por las calles de París, la gente comenzará pronto a conocerme, los niños irán corriendo tras de mí, se reirán de mí, me tirarán cosas y todo París me llamará: la loca del nomeolvides…

Photographs of propaganda banners from the Cuban Revolution, which I then re-photograph by placing a flower in the foreground as a gesture of negation. The image is remade with the banner in the background and the flower in focus. The entire project is inspired by the following passage from Milan Kundera’s Immortality:
When the assault of ugliness becomes completely unbearable, I will buy at the flower shop a forget-me-not, a single forget-me-not, that slender stem with a tiny blue blossom. I will go out into the street with it and hold it in front of my face, keeping my gaze fixed on it so I see nothing but that one beautiful blue point—seeing it as the last thing I want to keep for myself and for my eyes from a world I have ceased to love. I will walk through the streets of Paris like that; people will soon start to recognize me, children will run after me, laugh at me, throw things at me, and all of Paris will call me: the madwoman with the forget-me-not.
