En una pared pintada de negro son insertados aretes de falsos diamantes siguiendo un mapa estelar, de forma tal que se reproduce no solo la posición exacta sino también el tamaño de las estrellas.
La obra refleja algunas de las preocupaciones principales de la artista: la confluencia entre lo natural y lo artificial, el intersticio entre lo efímero y lo trascendente y la metáfora como ejercicio del poder creativo sobre los espectadores, también como una forma tautológica de referirse al arte.
El elemento artificial en sustitución del natural constituye un símbolo de lo que el hombre construye y perdura más allá de la vida misma; idea reforzada desde el título que refiere la forma en que las joyas falsas son llamadas en Cuba: “de fantasía”. En este sentido, la obra es además un recordatorio de nuestra capacidad de imaginar y crear nuestro propio universo. La magia no reside solamente en aquello que nos cautiva de la Naturaleza, sino también en nuestro poder de convertir lo aparentemente ordinario y banal en bello y mágico.

The work resumes some of the artist concerns: the confluence between the natural and artificial, the interstice between the ephemeral and transcendent and metaphor as an exercise of the creative power on spectators, also as a tautological way of referring to art.
The artificial element in substitution of the natural one is a symbol of what man creates, what prevails beyond life itself. In this sense, the work is likewise a reminder of our ability to imagine and to build our own universe. Magic is not only on those things of Nature which captivate us, but on our power to turn on what is apparently ordinary and banal in something beautiful and magical.
