Es como un gesto posdadaísta, el de pretender el absurdo de una lámpara de vela, una cierta fusión ingenua entre lo antiguo y lo actual; un intento inútil. Pero el toque de ironía está en el título, que se inspira en el nombre de la Revolución de 2006 (“Año de la Revolución Energética”) cuando se tomó una serie de medidas a nivel nacional para supuestamente ahorrar energía. El trámite mediante el cual se llevaron a cabo estas medidas parecía surrealista, absurdo y en contradicción con la imagen de avance que las medidas podrían provocar. El título fue reproducido en la vela con piezas del diario oficial de la Revolución: el Granma.
También es una referencia a la pérdida de funcionalidad del objeto que fue la causa del surgimiento mismo del arte.

It is like a post-Dadaist gesture, that of pretending the absurdity of a candle-lamp, a certain naive fusion between the old and the actual; a useless attempt. But the touch of irony is in the title, which is inspired by the name of the Revolution in 2006 (“Year of the Energetic Revolution”) when a series of measures was taken at a national level to supposedly save energy. The procedure through which these measures were carried out seemed surreal, absurd and in contradiction with the image of progress that the measures could cause. The title was reproduced in the candle with pieces of the official newspaper of the Revolution: Granma.
It is also a reference to the loss of functionality of the object that was the cause of the very emergence of art.
