En este video Glenda León nos presenta su visión de la vida como un camino de crecimiento espiritual y del papel que el arte puede tener en este proceso.
Así, la mariposa se convierte en un símbolo de empoderamiento de aquello que mal llamamos ‘débil’ pero que simplemente es ‘frágil’; una fragilidad incrementada –en este caso–, por el impacto negativo de la explotación de los recursos naturales. Quizás no se valora en toda su magnitud la importancia de la existencia de las mariposas en elementos vitales tales como la contribución a la polinización de las flores, la inclusión en la cadena trófica como alimento para aves o mamíferos insectívoros e incluso como índice de referencia para los estudiosos de la salud de los ecosistemas.
Las alas de este pequeño ser pueden convertirse en un espacio donde evocar una visión holística y biocéntrica del Universo: todos los seres fuimos concebidos por la misma energía con que fue creado el Cosmos.

Thus, the butterfly is a symbol of the empowerment of what we wrongly call ‘weak’ but is simply fragile; an increased fragility –in this case-, for the negative impact of the exploitation of natural resources. Perhaps, the importance is not valued in all its magnitude of the existence of the butterfly in vital elements as the contribution to the pollination of flowers, the inclusion in the food chain as nourishment for birds or insectivorous mammals an even as benchmark for ecosystem health scholars.
The wings of this little being can become a space to evoke a holistic and biocentric vision of the Universe: all beings were conceived by the same energy that created the Cosmos.

Hablando con Dios afronta la tecnología como un fenómeno contemporáneo, y la desacralización y descentralización de lo que es el canon. Si bien el entorno de una iglesia católica puede sugerir una íntima conversación con un Ser Superior, una exaltación de la Fe, el hecho de que las personas estén absortas en sus celulares, nos plantea una reflexión acerca del rol que las tecnologías desempeñan en nuestra vida actual. ¿Se podrá entonces realizar una actualización de la Fe?
Pocas veces, como en estos tiempos de Internet, tuvimos la posibilidad de alcanzar el conocimiento absoluto y ejercer el poder de la omnipresencia. Nunca antes estuvo el hombre tan cerca de parecerse a Dios y, sin embargo, lo esencial parece alejarse cada vez más. La belleza del encuadre final, distante, similar al de un cielo estrellado, nos deja una posible salida, optimista, donde ambos elementos, lo tecnológico y lo espiritual, entran en armonía.
Talking to God hones on the misplacement of technology as a contemporary phenomenon, and the desacralization and decentralization of what is canon. While the environment of a Catholic church suggests an intimate conversation with a Higher Self, or an exaltation of the Faith, the fact that people are absorbed in their cell phones raises a reflection on the role that technologies play in our current lives. Can we update the Faith?
Seldom, as in these times of Internet, we have had the possibility of reaching absolute knowledge and exercising the power of omnipresence. Never before was the human being so close to resembling God, and yet the essential seems to move further and further away. The beauty of the final frame, a distant shot similar to a starry sky, leaves us a possible, optimistic exit, where both elements, the technological and the spiritual, come into harmony.

Dirigir las Nubes
Según un reconocido científico de física cuántica, está comprobado que, habiendo logrado el grado de concentración y voluntad necesarios cualquier individuo puede llegar a dirigir las nubes. El evento ha ocurrido en distintos lugares del planeta pero ha sido pocas veces avizorado, ya que hoy día casi nadie mira con detenimiento al cielo.
No obstante, muchas personas han identificado formas bastante precisas en las nubes, pero permanecen ignorando su peculiar procedencia.
Addressing Clouds
According to a renowned scientist of quantum physics, there is evidence that, having achieved the required degree of concentration and will, any individual can direct the clouds. This event occurred in different parts of the world but has seldom been seen, since almost no one looks carefully at the sky nowadays.
However, many people have found quite accurate shapes in the clouds, yet they continue to ignore their peculiar origins.

Inversión rompe, a nivel visual, con el significado que las convenciones sociales han otorgado al dinero.
La idea de esta serie de videos surgió de una conversación entre la artista y dos banqueros y coleccionistas franceses. El absurdo gesto de inhalar o fumar dinero tiene obvias connotaciones socioeconómicas… es una referencia a la crisis espiritual de la sociedad y un cuestionamiento a sus estructuras que han convertido el dinero en objeto de deseo: mientras la inmensa mayoría del mundo trabaja para hacer dinero, la artista invierte tiempo, y cierto esfuerzo físico en destruirlo… también como referencia al propio acto de hacer arte, desprovisto de una utilidad social palpable o inmediata.
Inversion breakes, visually, with the meaning that social conventions have given to money.
The idea for this video series came out from a conversation between the artist and two French bankers and art collectors. The absurd gesture of sniffing or smoking money has obvious social and economic connotations… it’s a reference to the spiritual crisis and a questioning of the most established structures of society: while the most of people are working for making money, the artist spends time and certain effort to destroy it, which is also an allusion to the act of making art, something without any strong social utility.

Lo que tenemos en común como seres humanos, la necesidad de creer en algo, y la fuerza que esto adquiere en grupo.
Canalización es una propuesta para intentar ir más allá de los límites establecidos por la sociedad durante siglos y comenzar a desparenderlos: el deporte como búsqueda de identidad; la religión como búsqueda de fe; la política como pretexto, como escudo.
No critica lo religioso entendido como el culto a lo espiritual, sino ese culto que se hace banal, vacío, ficticio, cuando se limita a un símbolo o un lugar, provocando falsas divisiones y despreciando aquello que no está dentro de los libros sagrados, o del equipo deportivo o el grupo político al que se pertenece. Reflexiona sobre cuánto nos volcamos hacia lo externo, cuando en realidad el trabajo mayor hay que hacerlo desde el interior y hacia el interior, pues lo sagrado está también dentro de nosotros.

What we have in common as human beings, the need to believe in something, and the strength that this procures in a group.
Channeling is a proposal to go beyond the limits that have being settled by society and power for so long and to start to “unlearn” them. Sport as a search for Identity; Religion as a search for Faith, Politics as a pretext, as a shield.
It doesn’t criticize the religious, understood as cult to spirituality, but this cult became empty and fake when is limited to a symbol or a name or a place, provoking false divisions and rejecting everything that is not within the sacred book of certain religion, or within certain political or sport fan group. It’s a reflection about how much we focus on the external issues when the major work has to be done in the interior and towards the interior, because what’s sacred is also inside ourselves.

We walk blind and deaf through life: blind because we have our own images being projected all the time outside; and deaf because our mind hardly stops talking.
We project our inner realities, our prejudices, our deepest fears and desires around us; we even project a fake happiness. Mind has the power to transform things to our own convenience. And thus we live: “delirando” (being in delirious).

Cada vez que vemos las cosas cambiar inesperadamente, algo más grande ocurre: nuestra mente da un paso más hacia la flexibilidad, hacia la libertad y, por tanto, hacia la imaginación.
Estrellas fugaces usa la posibilidad de representar el tiempo para activar el cambio de un estado de realidad a otro. El hecho de que la realidad inicial desaparece muestra cuán importante puede ser un instante. Si al final el paisaje queda vacío es para simbolizar que todo está en nuestra mente y que en ella está la capacidad de llenar ese espacio, como mismo el arte no pudiera existir sin imaginación.
Estrellas fugaces es un video que vuela de la eternidad al instante.
Every time we see things change unexpectedly, something greater happens: our mind takes another step towards flexibility, towards freedom and, therefore, towards imagination.
Shooting Stars uses the possibility of representing time to activate the change from one state of reality to another. The fact that initial reality disappears, shows how important an instant can be. The emptied landscape at the end symbolizes everything is in our mind and therefore the ability to fill that space is in us, just as art itself could not exist without imagination.
Shooting Stars is a video that flies from eternity to an instant.

Nuestro acercamiento a la Naturaleza desde las esencias, a través de algo tan esencial como la respiración. La artista trata que la gente imagine cómo es estar en armonía con la naturaleza, ser uno con ella, escucharla con el cuerpo, convertirse en ella.
El establecimiento de divisiones es uno de los delirios más elaborados que ha desarrollado el hombre. Al asumir la división entre naciones, entre seres humanos, entre ellos y la naturaleza, incluso, la división dentro de nuestro propio cuerpo, estamos ignorando que todo está interconectado, y que el motivo principal de muchos problemas de salud, de comunicación, de tolerancia y de felicidad puede ser este desconocimiento.
La respiración, ese acto que repetimos una y otra vez, señal de vida junto con los latidos del corazón, es el puente entre el mundo y el cuerpo, cada vez que inhalamos tomamos algo del mundo y cada vez que exhalamos le devolvemos algo; aunque nunca nos detengamos a pensar en ello. El sonido entonces remite no solo a la idea de la conexión entre las personas y el mundo en el que viven, sino también al potencial de los seres humanos de transformar el mundo en el que viven, que no es tan lejano como a veces se presenta, para así propiciar una dosis de optimismo.
Our approach to Nature from the essences, through something as elemental as our own breathing. The artist tries to make people imagine what is like to be in harmony with Nature, to be one with it, to listen to it with our own body… to become Nature itself.
The establishment of divisions is one of the most elaborated delusions of Humankind. By assuming division between nations, between human beings, between them and Nature, even within our own body, we are ignoring that everything is interconnected, and that the main reason for many problems of health, communication, tolerance and happiness can be this ignorance.
Breathing, an act repeated time and again which, in confluence with the heartbeat, indicates life, is the bridge between the world and the body, as each time we inhale we take something from the world, and every time we exhale, we return something to the world, although we never stop to think about it. The artist uses this motion to convey not only the link that exists between people and the world they inhabit, but also the potential within human beings to make a change. She provides a dash of optimism by showing that such transformation is not a distant possibility as it sometimes seems.

Las mágicas coincidencias cuando carros de colores semejantes se cruzan sin siquiera notarlo. Solo uno de ellos se percata del otro, y abandona, por tanto, su pasivo transitar por la vida, y cambia su destino.
The magical coincidences when cars of similar colors intersect each other without even noticing it. Only one of them is aware of the other, and leaves, therefore, its passive transit through life, and changes its destiny.

Libido es una reflexión sobre las relaciones amorosas y la relación del hombre con la Naturaleza. De un lado, una imagen mágica, sensual: el zunzún libando de un seno; una alegoría al acto sexual, las nociones de entregar y de recibir, la repetición de este acto, su brevedad. Del otro, la máquina, la repetición mecánica de la extracción y las preguntas entonces: ¿es que la repetición destruye la libido en las relaciones amorosas? ¿Es que la Tierra tendrá recursos infinitos ante tanta explotación humana sobre ella?
Libido is a reflection on love relationships and man’s relationship with Nature. On one side, a magical, sensual image: the hummingbird sucking from a breast; an allegory to the sexual act, the notions of giving and receiving, the repetition of this act and its briefness. On the other side, the machine, the mechanical repetition of extraction and the questions then: can that repetition destroy libido in love relationships? Earth will have infinite resources in the face of so much human exploitation?

Every single event of our lifes is significant, such as the blinking.
Life itself can be measured through the simple act of closing and opening the eyes: the blinking (0.3 seconds), the sleep (a prolonged blink) and death (a blinking not completed or incomplete).

The contradiction between the magical image of levitation and the reality represented by the sound of footsteps in the background of the city, is like the contradiction between imagination and reality, the ethereal and the earthly, the child and adult.
